Data from more than 60,000 medical procedures were compiled in an analysis by Bupa – a private healthcare group.
It found arthroscopic knee operations, where surgeons look inside the joint using a camera, were one of the most popular in British 36 to 45 year olds.
That age group are now also the most likely to have epidural injections – designed to treat back pain.
While even millennials are suffering from similar ‘older generation’ afflictions.
Arthroscopic knee operations were considered to be one of the five most popular procedures for 16 to 25 year olds.
And the research found removal of hemorrhoids and varicose veins were two of the most common treatments in the circulatory diseases category for both age ranges.
Dr Steve Iley, Bupa’s medical director, said: ‘This shows a significant number of our customers are prematurely experiencing conditions you would normally associate with much older people.
Usage of Mobile phones and tablets have increased multifold during last decade causing disease such as Text Neck.
‘Hemorrhoid removal and treatment for varicose veins are procedures that people in this age group should not be encountering.
‘However, when you consider the amount of time young people now spend sat using their mobiles and tablets, streaming box sets or playing with the latest games console, you can see why these conditions are rising in this age group.
‘From their early twenties, more and more people are working long hours, with jam-packed schedules, and without the ability to ever really switch off.’
He added: ‘This, combined with bad postures and lack of movement, are taking their toll physically and mentally.
‘Our changing lifestyles make it more important than ever that people have access to the latest and best medical services.
‘Early and regular consultation can prevent a lot of the conditions we have seen from developing and will enable people to continue to lead the lives they want to.’
As well as age ranges, the analysis looked at the most common procedures across genders and UK cities in 2015.
In particular, ‘older age’ procedures were revealed to be top of the table in Cardiff and Liverpool, where knee operations were the single most common procedures.
While in Newcastle, epidurals were the most regularly undertaken procedures.
In a separate part of their analysis, Bupa also measured the traffic to its website.
It found a sharp rise in patient searches on their health information pages for conditions associated with stress.
Searches for ‘piles’ increased by 2454 per cent while ‘IBS’ and ‘peptic ulcers’ showed similar trends.
This comes after research earlier this week found members of Generation X are most likely to suffer a stroke.
Along with physical ailments, Mental ailments are much higher ; such as depression, ADHD and Alzheimer’s due to hours and hours of TV and mobile usage.
